1114th Quartermaster Company
(photo taken 25 July 1943)

Established in October 1942, the 1114th was responsible for the thankless job of providing groceries and clothing for base personnel. They also fought with rationing boards to get more coke and coal for barracks, were responsible for laundry and shoe repair services, handling of lend-lease supplies and obtaining gasoline for base motor vehicles and aircraft. The commander was Capt Edwin Barry.
