PBY "Catalina" - 15 April 1943

The "Cat" spotted the German battleship "Bismarck" after the sinking of the British battleship "Hood." Its capacity to stay long hours in the air made this aircraft ideally suited for long spotting and convoy-guarding patrols. It can carry eight 325-lb depth charges or two 2000-lb bombs under its wings.
