Major William C. Heller Poses by his 360th BS Sign

As 360th BS Commanding Officer, Major Heller was well known for the tight formation he demanded of his pilots. Tight formations were more difficult for the Luftwaffe to attack and were often ignored by them. After the war, Bill Heller heard that his sign was being used by a farmer near the base as the rear wall of a chicken coop.
