Heller's Angel #42-102484 (359BS) BN-K
41st CBW-A 303BG High - Pilot Capt K.C. Edwards / CoPilot 2Lt C.O. Mainwaring

(Back L-R) S/Sgt Abel G. Guzman (BT), 1Lt William L. Hoover (B),
Capt Kenneth C. Edwards (P), 2Lt Charles O. Mainwaring (CP), 1Lt Alan M. Prince (N)

(Front L-R) T/Sgt Robert W. Hanson (R), S/Sgt Donald E. Skinner (PHO),
S/Sgt Fay S. Abernathy (WG), S/Sgt Francis M. Kowalk (TG),
T/Sgt Kenneth V. Johnson (E)

Upon return to Molesworth, Capt Edwards buzzed the control tower. It caused the 41st CBW Commanding Officer, B/Gen Robert F. Travis, his brother Col William L. Travis and others to dive into the soft, runny tar-paper roof in their officer uniform "pinks." He blew out the tires when he landed with the brakes locked due to the shook-up CoPilot's neglect to release the brakes. Capt Edwards subsequently received a severe reprimand and a tire bill for $200.
