INCIDENT: On 23 July 44 mission #210 to Creil, France in B-17G #42-102960 (No name) 359BS (GN-H). Gasoline in the B-17 was exhausted and the aircraft was ditched in the English Channel. The entire crew was picked by an air-sea rescue boat. One crewman was injured. Not on mission was Sgt Ralph E. Wolfe (WG) who had been deleted from the crew when the crew size was changed from 10 to 9 men.
